LIVE MAP (ABOVE) ... SPC 1200Z Day 1 Outlook
Day 1 Convective Outlook
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
1213 AM CDT Wed Nov 02 2022
Valid 021200Z - 031200Z
...NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST...
...SUMMARY...
Severe thunderstorms are not expected through tonight across the
Lower 48 states.
...Synopsis...
A large-scale trough over the West Coast will gradually move east
into the Interior West during the period. Showers and isolated
thunderstorms are forecast from central CA north into western OR
within a corridor of very cold mid-level temperatures. A surface
low initially near the MT/ND border will move into southern Canada
while a lee cyclone develops over northeast CO late. Isolated
thunderstorms are possible over eastern UT/western CO as
strengthening ascent and a cooling mid-level profile promote the
risk for general thunderstorms. Farther east, surface high pressure
will influence conditions from the lower MS Valley into the
Northeast.
