SPC Jun 5, 2022 0100 UTC Day 1 Convective Outlook

SPC 0100Z Day 1 Outlook Day 1 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 0743 PM CDT Sat Jun 04 2022 Valid 050100Z - 051200Z ...THERE IS A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS PORTIONS OF THE CENTRAL/SOUTHERN PLAINS... ...SUMMARY... Scattered severe thunderstorms are expected across the central Plains this evening. Large hail and damaging winds remain possible. ...01z Update... Upper ridge remains positioned over central WY early this evening. Modest northwesterly 500mb flow, on the order of 30kt, extends across the Black Hills into central NE. Scattered severe thunderstorms are now expanding in areal coverage along the frontal zone, loosely oriented along I-80. This activity should gradually propagate south into weak low-level 850mb flow. Several HREF members agree that one, or more, thunderstorm clusters will grow upscale as convection moves south of the NE border. Hail and wind remain the primary concern with this activity as it evolves over the central Plains. ..Darrow.. 06/05/2022 Read more CHECK UPDATE ZOOM GRAPHIC
