Thunderstorms are not expected across the U.S. today or tonight. ...Synopsis/Discussion... Stable conditions and seasonally cool temperatures are expected to preclude thunderstorm development across the CONUS. A progressive and semi-amplified large-scale pattern will persist across the CONUS with a general prevalence of northwesterly flow aloft. A shortwave trough will spread east-southeastward over the Pacific Northwest and northern Rockies, while an additional clipper-type system influences the Upper Midwest and Great Lakes.
