SPC 0100Z Day 1 Outlook
Day 1 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 0733 PM CDT Sun Oct 03 2021 Valid 040100Z - 041200Z ...NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST... ...SUMMARY... Organized severe thunderstorms are not expected tonight. ...01z Update... Slow-moving organized line of convection has developed from northwestern OH/eastern IN ahead of a progressive short-wave trough. This activity is expected to propagate downstream this evening, but gradually weaken as boundary-layer cooling results in weaker buoyancy across this region. 00z sounding from ILN exhibits very poor lapse rates and negligible instability with surface temperatures in the mid 60s. Elsewhere, greater instability currently exists across portions of the TN Valley into the central Gulf States but onset of diurnal cooling and the absence of meaningful large-scale ascent do not favor robust convection tonight. ..Darrow.. 10/04/2021 Read more LIVE: spc.noaa.gov
