SPC 0100Z Day 1 Outlook
Day 1 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 0727 PM CDT Fri Oct 22 2021 Valid 230100Z - 231200Z ...THERE IS A MARGINAL RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS PARTS OF NORTHERN OKLAHOMA...SOUTHEAST KANSAS...AND ADJACENT SOUTHWEST MISSOURI... ...SUMMARY... Hail may occur with thunderstorms across parts of southern Kansas and northern Oklahoma into southwest Missouri late tonight. ...KS/OK/MO... Weak isentropic ascent is currently noted across northern OK/southeast KS where scattered NW/SE-oriented mid-level clouds currently extend. Later this evening LLJ should strengthen from the eastern TX Panhandle into south-central KS. This should encourage deepening mid-level convection and isolated-scattered thunderstorms are expected to develop. This activity will be rooted above the boundary layer and a few robust updrafts could generate hail. Will maintain 5 percent hail probability across this region for thunderstorms later tonight. ..Darrow.. 10/23/2021 Read more LIVE: spc.noaa.gov
