SPC 0600Z Day 2 Outlook Day 2 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 1254 AM CDT Sat Oct 02 2021 Valid 031200Z - 041200Z ...THERE IS A MARGINAL RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS PARTS OF THE LOWER OHIO AND WESTERN TENNESSEE VALLEYS... ...SUMMARY... Thunderstorms associated with strong wind gusts will be possible across parts of the lower Ohio and western Tennessee Valley Sunday afternoon. ...Lower Ohio and Western Tennessee Valleys... An upper-level trough is forecast to move eastward into the lower Ohio and western Tennessee Valleys on Sunday. At the surface, a cold front is forecast to advance eastward across the mid Mississippi Valley. A corridor of maximized low-level moisture will be in place ahead of the front in the Ohio and Tennessee Valleys, where surface dewpoints should be in the lower to mid 60s F. In response, a narrow corridor of moderate instability could develop ahead of the front by Sunday afternoon. Scattered thunderstorms will likely develop near the front eastward across much of the Ohio and Tennessee Valleys during the day. The storms that form within the corridor of strongest instability, where deep-layer shear is forecast to be in the 25 to 35 kt range, could have potential for strong wind gusts mainly during the mid to late afternoon. ..Broyles.. 10/02/2021 Read more LIVE:
