SPC Oct 1, 2021 0600 UTC Day 2 Convective Outlook

SPC 0600Z Day 2 Outlook Day 2 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 1237 AM CDT Fri Oct 01 2021 Valid 021200Z - 031200Z ...NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST... ...SUMMARY... Scattered thunderstorms will be possible from Saturday into Saturday night across much of the central U.S., but no severe weather is expected. ...DISCUSSION... A shortwave upper-level ridge will move across the Great Lakes region on Saturday as an upper-level trough moves eastward across the central states. At the surface, a large high pressure area will move into the eastern Atlantic as a cold front advances southeastward into the upper Mississippi Valley, lower Missouri Valley and central to southern Plains. A moist airmass will be in place ahead of the front where weak instability is forecast Saturday afternoon. Scattered thunderstorms are expected from Saturday into Saturday night along and ahead of the front from the southern Plains north-northeastward into the western Great Lakes region. Deep-layer shear is forecast to remain relatively weak along this corridor suggesting that the thunderstorm activity will remain unorganized. Therefore, no severe threat is anticipated across the continental United States on Saturday or Saturday night. ..Broyles.. 10/01/2021 Read more LIVE:
