Day 4-8 Outlook
Day 4-8 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 0353 AM CDT Mon Jul 19 2021 Valid 221200Z - 271200Z ...DISCUSSION... Upper ridging is expected to build across the western CONUS on D4/Thursday and D5/Friday and then persist through the weekend. At the same time, a series of shortwave troughs are forecast to move across Ontario/Quebec and the adjacent Northeast CONUS, helping to maintain broadly cyclonic flow aloft across much of the eastern CONUS. Stronger mid-level flow will accompany these shortwaves moving, resulting in the potential for more organized storms if enough buoyancy is present. However, predictability of the timing of these shortwaves is low, as is the predictability of how buoyant the air mass will be as the shortwaves move through. As such, forecast confidence is too low to outlook any areas. Read more LIVE: spc.noaa.gov
