SPC Jun 1, 2021 0100 UTC Day 1 Convective Outlook

SPC 0100Z Day 1 Outlook Day 1 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 0759 PM CDT Mon May 31 2021 Valid 010100Z - 011200Z ...THERE IS A SLIGHT RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHWEST TX... ...SUMMARY... A threat for very large hail, locally damaging winds, and possibly a tornado will be focused across parts of southwest Texas for much of this evening, with some threat potentially extending into south-central Texas overnight. ...Southwest into Central TX... Ongoing thunderstorms northwest of Del Rio, TX may potentially grow upscale into a cluster that spreads southeastward later tonight. Moderate-to-strong instability and sufficient deep-layer shear (as noted in 00Z DRT sounding) will continue to support a threat of supercells for a time this evening, with a threat of very large hail, locally damaging wind, and perhaps a tornado. The extent of upscale growth remains somewhat uncertain later tonight, but there is some potential for a forward-propagating MCS to spread southeastward into parts of south-central TX overnight, posing some threat of damaging wind gusts and isolated hail. The Slight and Marginal Risk areas have been expanded slightly eastward to account for any potential threat later tonight. ..Dean.. 06/01/2021 Read more LIVE:
