SPC 1630Z Day 1 Outlook
Day 1 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 1002 AM CST Mon Nov 29 2021 Valid 291630Z - 301200Z ...NO THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST... ...SUMMARY... Thunderstorms are not expected across the CONUS through early Tuesday. ...Synopsis... Northwesterly mid-level flow will prevail across much of the central and eastern US through the forecast period in the wake of a departing upper trough. Across the Southwest, mid-level ridging will shift westward as a weak upper low develops off the Baja coast. Several shortwave troughs embedded within the flow aloft will move across the northern Rockies and upper Midwest today, though scant boundary-layer moisture remains due to surface high pressure and several days offshore flow. As such, thunderstorms appear unlikely across the CONUS through early Tuesday. ..Lyons/Grams.. 11/29/2021 Read more LIVE: spc.noaa.gov
