Severe thunderstorms are not currently forecast across the contiguous United States on Thursday. ...Synopsis... A larger-scale mid-level trough over the eastern half of the CONUS will feature a disturbance moving from east TX into the central Gulf of Mexico during the period. In the low levels, a front in deep south TX will push southeastward as a weak surface low develops and moves into the southeastern Gulf of Mexico by early Friday morning. Showers and thunderstorms will expand in coverage over the eastern Gulf on Thursday evening into Thursday night with thunderstorms mainly affecting the western portion of the FL Peninsula and lower Keys. Relatively weak lapse rates/modest low-level moisture will limit overall thunderstorm intensity over the FL Peninsula through Thursday night.
