SPC 0730Z Day 3 Outlook
Day 3 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 0135 AM CDT Wed Sep 29 2021 Valid 011200Z - 021200Z ...NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST... ...SUMMARY... Severe thunderstorms are not expected on Friday. ...Synopsis... The upper low/trough over AZ/NM will slowly migrate northeast toward the central/southern High Plains on Friday. Meanwhile, the larger-scale upper flow pattern across the west will weaken and become generally westerly. A ridge over the Midwest and Southeast will weaken while an upper low persists across the Northeast. Low-level warm advection across the southern Plains toward the MS Valley will aid in areas of heavy rain and thunderstorms ahead of a nearly stationary cold front positioned from the Upper Midwest into the southern Plains. Modest instability/shear and poor lapse rates will preclude severe potential. ..Leitman.. 09/29/2021 Read more LIVE: spc.noaa.gov
