SPC Jul 4, 2021 0730 UTC Day 3 Severe Thunderstorm Outlook

SPC 0730Z Day 3 Outlook Day 3 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 0207 AM CDT Sun Jul 04 2021 Valid 061200Z - 071200Z ...NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST... ...SUMMARY... Severe thunderstorms are not currently forecast on Tuesday. ...Synopsis... An upper level trough will develop south and east across the Great Lakes region on Tuesday, while an associated surface cold front shifts southeast across the Upper Midwest and Mid-MO Valley. A seasonally moist and unstable airmass will reside ahead of the front, and thunderstorms are expected ahead of the boundary from parts of WI into IA and NE/KS, as well as along a warm front extending across central/northern Lower MI. Some of this activity could be strong, possibly posing a threat for locally damaging gusts. However, quite a bit of uncertainty exists with large spread among forecast guidance concerning frontal position/timing, strength of vertical shear, degree of destabilization and impacts from previous day's convection. This will preclude severe probabilities at this time. Across Florida, current Tropical Storm Elsa is forecast to move along the west coast of the peninsula and move inland over northern FL on Tuesday. Currently, tropical cyclone related tornado potential appears low. ..Leitman.. 07/04/2021 Read more LIVE:
