SPC Jun 4, 2021 0100 UTC Day 1 Convective Outlook

SPC 0100Z Day 1 Outlook Day 1 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 0759 PM CDT Thu Jun 03 2021 Valid 040100Z - 041200Z ...THERE IS A MARGINAL RISK OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS FOR PORTIONS OF THE INTERIOR NORTHWEST AND ALSO FROM THE CAROLINAS INTO THE MID ATLANTIC... ...SUMMARY... Isolated strong thunderstorms remain possible this evening over portions of the interior Northwest, and also across parts of the Carolinas and Mid Atlantic. ...Mid Atlantic into the Carolinas... Convection has generally waned in intensity this evening across most of the Northeast and Mid Atlantic. A few stronger cells and clusters remain possible for a time this evening where pockets of somewhat greater buoyancy remain, given modestly enhanced low/midlevel southwesterly flow. Convection may persist for much of the night across the eastern Carolinas into southeast VA, within a zone of somewhat stronger low-level flow and moisture transport. The severe threat is expected to remain generally limited, but locally damaging wind or a brief tornado cannot be ruled out within this regime. ...Interior Northwest... Widely scattered high-based thunderstorms have developed across eastern OR, and also across western MT. Convection may persist for much of the evening, with some potential for a forward-propagating cluster to move from OR into western MT later tonight. Localized severe wind gusts are the primary threat. See MCD 846 for more information on the short-term severe threat in this area. ..Dean.. 06/04/2021 Read more LIVE: spc.noaa.gov
