SUMMARY: A record low of -10°F was set at 5:36 AM on Saturday, February 28, 2015.  The average temperature for the month of February tied the record low of 14.6°F.

The record low for Chicago's official O'Hare International Airport came one day after the official Rockford, Illinois record low was broken at -15°F on February 27, 2015. The 24-hour radar archive for Saturday, February 28, 2015 showed that most of the precipitation stayed south of Chicagoland. Light snow arrived from the southwest starting at about 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and continued through midnight. The snow cover was a beautiful sparkly snow.
