SPC 1730Z Day 2 Outlook
Day 2 Convective Outlook
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
1100 AM CST Sat Feb 05 2022
Valid 061200Z - 071200Z
...NO THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST...
...SUMMARY...
Thunderstorms are not forecast across the contiguous United States
on Sunday.
...Synopsis and Discussion...
Dry and/or stable conditions are expected to prevail over a large
majority of the CONUS on Sunday. One exception will be across parts
of the FL Peninsula, where modest low-level moisture should remain
in place. Multiple weak, southern-stream mid-level impulses are
forecast to move northeastward across the Southeast through the day.
Even with the low-level moisture across parts of the FL Peninsula,
forecast soundings indicate rather poor mid-level lapse rates, which
should inhibit the development of enough instability to support
convective potential. Accordingly, thunderstorms are not forecast
across the CONUS on Sunday.
