Day 3 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 0200 AM CST Wed Nov 17 2021 Valid 191200Z - 201200Z ...NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST... ...SUMMARY... Severe thunderstorms are not forecast across the contiguous United States on Friday. ...Synopsis and Discussion... An upper trough is forecast to continue moving quickly northeastward across the Mid-Atlantic and New England on Friday. At the surface, a front will likely extend over the Gulf of Mexico across the FL Peninsula and into the western Atlantic. To the north of this front, surface high pressure is expected to dominate much of the eastern CONUS through the period. The only appreciable chance for thunderstorms Friday appears to be across parts of east-central and south FL, where greater low-level moisture should be present south of the front. Poor lapse rates and weak instability will likely limit the potential for severe convection.
