SPC 0730Z Day 3 Outlook
Day 3 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 0157 AM CDT Thu Sep 30 2021 Valid 021200Z - 031200Z ...NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST... ...SUMMARY... Severe thunderstorms are not expected on Saturday. ...Synopsis... A shortwave trough over the central Plains will develop eastward toward the MS Valley on Saturday. Southerly low-level flow will maintain a moist boundary layer from the south-central U.S. toward the upper Great Lakes ahead of a southeastward-advancing cold front. Ahead of the front in a persistent warm advection regime, areas of showers and thunderstorms, along with widespread cloudiness are expected throughout the period. A lack of stronger heating ahead of the front, coupled with poor midlevel lapse rates, will limit instability. Generally weak deep-layer flow and modest vertical shear will further preclude severe potential. ..Leitman.. 09/30/2021 Read more LIVE: spc.noaa.gov
