Severe thunderstorms are not anticipated the rest of tonight. ...Southwestern US... Northern Baja upper low has advanced slowly northeast into central AZ where it continues to influence scattered convection, mainly to its north-eastern periphery. Stronger mid-level flow is translating across northern Mexico into southwestern NM early this evening where 500mb flow is on the order of 35kt. This feature appears partly responsible for a few robust thunderstorms that have progressed into the Sacramento Mountains. 00z sounding from EPZ exhibits PW near one inch with steep low-level lapse rates, but only a few hundred J/kg MLCAPE. Air mass downstream across southeastern NM is less buoyant and the strong storms crossing the Sacramentos should gradually weaken, especially after sunset.
