SPC Sep 25, 2021 0100 UTC Day 1 Convective Outlook

SPC 0100Z Day 1 Outlook Day 1 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 0735 PM CDT Fri Sep 24 2021 Valid 250100Z - 251200Z ...NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST... ...SUMMARY... Severe threat is very low the rest of tonight. ...01z Update... Strong/severe thunderstorms that developed over southern CA, in association with northern Baja upper low, have moved offshore and weakened. Substantial stabilization in the wake of this convection will prove detrimental for further strong storms tonight. Thunderstorms have struggled to intensify within high-PW air mass over portions of New England this evening. Warm advection continues to aid weak convection along a corridor from southeast MA-western ME. 00z sounding from GYX exhibited adequate buoyancy for a few robust elevated updrafts, but mid-level lapse rates are poor and the prospect for organized severe appears minimal. Elsewhere, isolated lightning flashes may be noted with weak convection ahead of a strongly digging upper trough over the Midwest. Lingering convection across south FL may also produce a few lightning flashes. ..Darrow.. 09/25/2021 Read more LIVE:
