SPC 0600Z Day 2 Outlook Day 2 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 1154 PM CDT Sat Jul 31 2021 Valid 021200Z - 031200Z ...NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST... ...SUMMARY... The probability of severe storms appears low across the USA on Monday. ...Synopsis... Heights will fall further across the Deep South with an upper trough east of the MS River and 20-30 kt northwesterly midlevel flow over the Plains. Meanwhile, an upper high will be centered near the Mojave Desert. At the surface, a front will extend roughly from the coastal Carolinas to the northern Gulf Coast, where numerous showers and thunderstorms will be likely throughout the period. While moist and unstable profiles will exist ahead of the front, shear will remain weak, with only sporadic strong gusts expected. To the west, scattered storms will develop during the day from AZ/NM northward into ID and western MT, beneath the upper ridge. Isolated daytime storms are also expected over central OR where strong heating and steeper midlevel lapse rates will be present.
