SPC Jun 14, 2021 0730 UTC Day 3 Severe Thunderstorm Outlook

SPC 0730Z Day 3 Outlook Day 3 Convective Outlook NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK 0216 AM CDT Mon Jun 14 2021 Valid 161200Z - 171200Z ...NO SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AREAS FORECAST... ...SUMMARY... Severe storms are not expected across the USA on Wednesday ...Synopsis and Discussion... On Wednesday, an upper high will remain over the Four Corners states as a shortwave trough flattens the upper ridge across the northern Plains. Cooling aloft will overspread the far northern Plains Wednesday night, shunting the upper ridge into the upper Great Lakes. Meanwhile, an upper trough will remain over the eastern states with upper low over southern Quebec. At the surface, weak low pressure is forecast over the central Plains as high pressure remains east of the MS River. Southerly winds across the Plains will maintain low-level moisture from TX toward the lower and middle MO Valley as a weak front pushes east across the Dakotas and NE. The presence of instability ahead of the northern Plains front may provide a focus for thunderstorms from the eastern Dakotas into MN, but capping could be an issue and lift will be weak. In addition, temperatures a loft will be warm near the upper ridge. Therefore will defer any potential low-end severe probs to later outlooks when predictability is higher. ..Jewell.. 06/14/2021 Read more LIVE: spc.noaa.gov
